Northdale Animal Hospital - Our Services Minimize
Physical Examinations and Vaccinations
As your pet’s family doctor, we are committed to keeping your pet as healthy as possible by protecting them from disease and detecting any medical conditions in the early stages.

Protecting your pet from disease through regular physical examinations and preventive vaccinations is one of the most important things you can do to keep them healthy.  Vaccination protocols vary depending on:
  • your pet’s lifestyle
  • if you travel with your pet (and where you travel to)
  • disease prevalence in our area, and
  • how long the vaccines are proven to protect against specific diseases.

Our Veterinarians will go through specific recommendations for your pet based on all the important considerations above.  It is important to remember that vaccination protocols can and do change – your veterinary team keeps up-to-date and will make the most appropriate recommendations based on the health and well-being of your pet.

Parasite Control Minimize
Parasite control is another very important aspect of general health – both from your pet’s and your family’s perspective (many parasites can be transmitted from our pets to our family members).  Both dogs and cats require a yearly fecal (stool) check to determine the presence of any parasites and appropriate treatment.  Dogs require heartworm testing (spring) and preventive medication.  Our hospital provides the most current and effective products for parasite control, protecting both your pet and your family.
Nutrition Minimize
What your pet eats can have a significant impact on their health.  Skin and coat quality, stool volume and quality, weight, dental health, and general demeanor and energy levels can be significantly impacted by what your pet eats.  As your pet’s health care provider, we are happy to provide appropriate information on the nutritional requirements that are most important for your pet during different life stages, and in the prevention and management of medical conditions.  We recommend diets after careful research and understanding of their quality and benefits.  These are diets we feed to our own pets with confidence.
Surgery Minimize
Our hospital is fully equipped for a multitude of surgical procedures that pets may require.  We encourage clients to discuss all aspects of their pets specific surgery with us:  preparation; the actual surgical procedure; after-care and home care.  We are happy to explain and provide information to help our clients understand their pet's procedure, and to feel as comfortable as possible with the surgery involved.
